How to play The Peak
The Peak is the film and music quiz where you have to find the highest point of a star's career. An actor, director or music artist appears on screen with a challenge: guess their highest-rated film on IMDb or their most-streamed song on Spotify. The group shouts out titles and the host types them in. Every valid title shows its real score, so the closer you get, the more you know you're on the right track. Whoever finds the peak wins the point.
Step-by-step rules
- Create your teams in the “Your teams” panel: the turn passes to a different team with every subject.
- Choose whether to play with films, music or both.
- Read out the subject and the challenge. Everyone can suggest titles, but the team on turn decides which ones the host types.
- The host types the title and presses Enter. No need for perfect spelling: small typos and both original and Italian titles are accepted.
- If the title is valid but not the record, it appears in orange with its score. If it's the peak, it turns green, the team on turn scores +1 and the Top 5 appears.
- If nobody gets there, “Reveal the answer” shows the ranking straight away.
Nearly 100 stars to explore
Actors and directors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Christopher Nolan, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks or Zendaya for the IMDb challenge, and artists such as Queen, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Coldplay or Ed Sheeran for the Spotify challenge. Every subject comes with their five best titles and real ratings or streams, so each round is also a quick tour of film and music history.
How many players do you need?
The Peak works both as a co-operative game, with the whole group working together to reach the record, and as a turn-based contest between 2-6 teams. Each subject takes 1-3 minutes to solve: perfect for a movie night or as a break between longer games.
Tips
- Think of critically acclaimed masterpieces, not the most famous films: the IMDb peak often isn't the biggest box office hit.
- For music, think of recent global hits: streams reward the songs of the streaming era.
- Use the “orange” guesses: they tell you how close you are to the top score.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the exact title?
No: the game accepts small typos, missing articles and common alternative titles.
Are the ratings and streams up to date?
They're approximate values from around 2025. Ratings and streams change over time: if in doubt, the host decides.
Why are there no photos of the stars?
To avoid copyrighted images, each subject is shown as a colourful avatar with their initials.
Can we play without teams?
Yes: ignore the scoreboard and play together to reach the peak in as few guesses as possible.
