How to play Skill Test
Skill Test is the challenge of sharp eyes, quick reflexes and visual logic where every round is different. A grid of coloured shapes, symbols or emoji appears with a task: find the shape in a slightly different shade, the figure that's a mirror image, the combination identical to the target or the figure that continues a sequence. The team on turn has 10 seconds to tap the right answer. Challenges are generated fresh every time, so no two games are the same.
Step-by-step rules
- Create your teams in the “Your teams” panel: the scoreboard highlights the team on turn.
- Read the task and study the grid. A 10-second timer starts.
- The team on turn taps the cell they think is right. If it's correct, they score +1 point.
- If they're wrong or time runs out, the wrong cell is ruled out and the challenge passes to the next team with a fresh timer.
- If no team gets it, the game shows the solution. Then move on to the next challenge.
- Every 3 challenges the level goes up: bigger grids, closer colours, subtler rotations.
The 7 challenge types
- 🎨 Odd colour: every shape is identical, but one is a shade lighter.
- 🔷 Odd shape: a slightly rotated arrow or a star with one extra point.
- 🎯 Find the match: the shape with the same colour and outline as the target, hidden among near-matches.
- 🪞 Mirror image: four figures are the same shape rotated, one is reflected. Great for spatial reasoning.
- 🔢 Logic sequence: rotations, repeating colours, growing dots: which figure comes next?
- 🧮 Count the shapes: how many triangles are in a mixed grid? Speed and accuracy.
- 🔍 Spot the emoji: the target emoji hidden among lots of lookalikes.
Use the “Challenge types” panel to switch off any you don't enjoy.
How many players do you need?
Skill Test works with 2 or more players and is great for mixed groups of adults and kids, because it needs no knowledge, just attention. A challenge takes a few seconds: in 10 minutes you can play dozens of rounds.
Frequently asked questions
Do challenges repeat?
No: shapes, colours and positions are generated randomly every time.
Is it colour-blind friendly?
Colour challenges can be tricky. Switch off “Odd colour” in the challenge types panel and play with the others.
Is it better on a TV or a phone?
Both: on a TV the grid is visible from across the room and one person taps for the team; on a phone the cells adapt to the screen.
Why are there no photos?
Every challenge is drawn by the game in SVG, with no third-party images: light, fast and copyright-free.
